Woody Allen

Why does everyone love Woody Allen movies so much?  I have tried to watch his movies so many times and the only 2 I can get through are "Everyone Says I Love You" and "Match Point".  I like the former b/c he isn't in it very much and I get to see a bunch of celebs sing and dance who wouldn't normally do so.  The latter was different from his other movies and he wasn't in it at all.   Tonight in film class we watched "Manhattan".  The movie was so damn boring and such typical Woody Allen junk that I thought I would go insane during that hour and a half.  I don't mind a movie that is mostly dialogue, in fact those are some of the best movies.  His movies are just ridiculous and I think it is mostly due to him.  The man drives me insane.  He's quirks and neuroses are extremely irritating.  He just ruins his movies.  I don't get the appeal.
